Q: Is BioTran authorized to pick up medical waste?
A: Yes, BioTran is licensed and permitted (DOH #7454) through the State
of Florida Department of Health to transports regulated medical waste
from generating facilities to permitted disposal sites
Q: I require monthly pick up. Do you pick up on the same day monthly?
A: The regulations in Florida require that bio-medical waste be removed
from the generating facility within 30 days of the date the first article
of such waste is placed in the container (excluding sharps). For
facilities that require a monthly pick up, we schedule your facility on a
28 day cycle. This facilitates our routes to provide your pick up on the
same day every 4 weeks, equating to 13 pick ups per year. This
assuresyou are in complience with the regulations of the Florida DOH.
Q: Do you supply sharps containers or do we provide them?
A: BioTran can supply sharps containes per you requirements. We carry
several brands and all types and sizes. We will be glad to quote your
needs. Many customers prefer to have BioTran supply the containers,
eliminating their need to control inventory. Of course you have the
option of providing your own from any source you choose.
Q: Can I email for information?
A: Certainly. Just go to the contact page and click our email address. We
will respond promptly with an email answering any question you may
have.
Q: What regulations cover the collection and disposal of medical waste?
A: In the state of Florida, regulated medical waste services are
overseen jointly by the Florida Department of Health and the Florida
Department of Environmental Protection. For more information, please
